
William and Paulina Pusch and their youngest child, Agnes
William Pusch (1878-1932) and Paulina Hirsekorn (1878-1953) were married on October 6, 1895 in Vladimer, Wohlynia, Russia. In 1909, they and their 6 children came to Canada. The 6 children were Carl (1896-1968), Amelia (Molly) (1902-1985), Gottfried (Fred) (1904-1974), Gottlieb (1906-1921), Olga (1907- ) and Rudolph (1909-1980).
They settled in the Kipling-Windthorst area where 8 children were born - William (1910-1974), Elsie (1912-1960), twins Arthur and Walter (1914- ), Edna (1916-1995), Adele (1917- ), Herbert (1920- ) and Agnes (1922- ).
Food has been an important part of all our family gatherings. It is fitting that we celebrate the century of the family by compiling some of those recipes. Through the years, we have taken great pride in producing our own food. In early days, it was a necessity; now it is for personal satisfaction.
We hope you enjoy looking back to the foods of your childhood and preserve for posterity some of the recipes from then to the present.
