INGREDIENTS
- 3 tsp. yeast
- 2 tsp. sugar
- 1/2 c. lukewarm water
- 6 eggs, well beaten
- 1 c. sugar
- 1-1/2 c. oil
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 tbsp. baking powder
- 8 - 10 c. flour
DIRECTIONS
- Dissolve sugar in 1/2 cup water; add yeast and let stand 10 minutes.
- Combine dissolved yeast and remaining ingredients, using enough flour to make a soft dough.
- Place dough in warm place and let rise. Punch down and let rise again.
- Make buns. Place on greased pans and cover. Let rise.
- Bake in oven at 350 degrees F.
YIELD: Four to five dozen.
This recipe also makes lovely doughnuts.
