INGREDIENTS
- 1/2 c. margarine
- 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 - 3 c. milk
- 1 c. grated cheese
DIRECTIONS
- Melt margarine; add flour and salt.
- Cook and stir about 1 minute.
- Slowly add milk, a little at a time, until sauce is the consistency you like.
- Add cheese and stir until melted.
YIELD: Four servings.
Option: Use package of cheese mix from a macaroni and cheese box. Serve on buttered toast with canned tomatoes as a side dish. Scrambled eggs or poached eggs may be placed on the toast before the sauce or boiled eggs may be sliced into the sauce.
